Speaking between rock and a green place

Chuck Leavell

March 28, 2013

Chuck Leavell divides his time between rocking and growing -- as a musician who for 30 years has toured for the likes of The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, John Mayer and more on piano and keyboards. Off-stage he is a conservationist who owns and operates a tree farm -- Charlane Plantation -- in Macon, Ga

Leavell will give the talk "Natural Resource Stewardship and Partnerships: Thoughts from a forest landowner, wildlife conservationist and rock musician" at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, in Room 221 Natural Resource Building on campus.

He authored the new  "Growing a Better America: Smart, Strong and Sustainable" and “Forever Green: The History and Hope of the American Forest” in 2001.  He also co-founded the Mother Nature Network environmental website.

It is free and open to the public.

The talk is sponsored by the Center for Systems Integration and Sustainability and the Boone and Crockett Club.
